From a Person-Centered and Humanistic lens, I prioritize creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship together so that you can explore your thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, somatics, emotions, and needs. I will guide you to create goals for therapy, acknowledging that you are the expert in your own life. I will use evidence-based modalities to tailor to your treatment plan.
Specialized modalities: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences. Please contact me if you are interested in this for a child you care about.
Connect Parent Group
This group is offered to parents at no cost.
Connect is a 10-week virtual or in-person program to support parents and caregivers of pre-teens and teens with behavioural and emotional problems. Parents meet in small groups with two trained group leaders for 90 minutes each week. Each session provides parents with a new perspective on parent-teen relationships and adolescent development. Parents watch role-plays and try exercises that encourage more choices for responding to their teens’ difficult behaviour. We understand that each child and each parent is different and change is part of development. Rather than teach only one way of parenting, we help parents to see alternatives in dealing with their teens in ways which support healthy relationships while setting limits and helping their teen to move forward.

The Working Mind First Responders Course
A mental health training course designed to break down stigma, strengthen communication and improve resilience in the first responder community.
Brittany is a certified independent facilitator for The Working Mind First Responders Primary and Leadership Course. She has been facilitating both in-person and virtual deliveries since 2018 as an internal facilitator for a non-profit organization that supports children, youth and families in community, outreach, and residential settings. She has worked in both frontline and leadership roles, giving her over a decade of experience supporting both clients in crisis/escalated situations and employees with the effects of often high-stress and challenging work. Although this delivery is specific to First Responders which may imply Fire, EMS, Police, Corrections, and 911, the term First Responders can be broadened to include other professions working on the frontline and first to respond to emergency and crisis situations such as street and community outreach workers, shelter workers, and child and youth/social workers.
