Brittany Anderson (she/her/hers)
Canadian Certified Counsellor
MC, CCC
I’m Brittany, a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a strong passion to help people discover their potential and enjoy fulfilled lives both at work and home. My skillset comes from a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology complemented by various specialized trainings and diverse experiences in both frontline and leadership roles for more than a decade with government and non-profit organizations.
I support my clients in a way that honours their experiences and recognizes their strengths. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Theory, prioritizing the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for which clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, somatics, and needs in trust and safety. Goals for counselling are determined with the client, seeing the client as the expert in their own life and me as a guide helping them towards meaningful shifts.
I’m a person-centered integrative counsellor. I am not currently accepting clients whose main goal for counselling is to address complex trauma. I am accepting clients with other presentations of trauma including symptoms related to single-incident events.
Outside the Office
I’m of Scottish descent born and raised in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people, now known as Nova Scotia. I have since made a living in Lethbridge, Alberta, traditionally known as Blackfoot Territory, with my husband and growing family. I am a mother, wife, aunt, sister, daughter, and friend. When I’m not working, I’m enjoying camping and biking with my kids and husband, running, playing soccer, and watching my niece and nephew’s sports with my family!
